Need to Create

I have this need to shoot constantly. So I find myself on my days off wandering around my backyard seeking "the shots". It's funny as an artist you can find beauty anywhere. Here are a couple of shots I took today around the house.

You can find it anywhere, if you just look.

Knock Knock the Horse

My boyfriend and I took a ride through the country today. We have been going to see this particular horse now for a few years and have named him Knock Knock. We obviously don't know his real name but he's real sweet, eats right out of our hands. Here's a couple of pics of our Knock Knock. The other horse we call Peetue.

Bambi & Mookie

So as I was posting my former post a little while ago, I looked over and caught my 2 chihuahuas cuddling on my handmade quilt that they know they are not supposed to me on. They just looked so cute I had to snap a quick shot of them before they got the boot.

Anna & Jack's Birthday Party

This past weekend my boyfriend's neice and nephew celebrated their 3rd and 5th birthdays. They had a blast out in the yard shooting their foam rockets "into outer space" and throwing the over sized foam frisbee with Unka Jimma and Uncle Mikey. I was lucky enough to capture some of these moments. Here are some of my favorites.

Why Kaleidoscope??

KALEIDOSCOPE

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

"Existing in the kaleidoscope of this huge biomass
I am a collection of brightly colored pieces of glass

Throughout each new experience, I try my best to shine
Because each new experience yields a new design

The twisting turning motions, are not just configurations
They represent my experiences, trials, and tribulations

The reflection that YOU see is not only of what surrounds me
It is that, combined with what you think, or know,
or what you think you know profoundly

I am more than meets the eye at that first judgemental glance
I am a determined woman with integrity,
dancing and awkward dance

So when you are feeling a bit discouraged or maybe a little strange
Look into a kaleidoscope and watch the patterns rearrange

Feel comfort in realizing that beauty comes from change."

I wrote this poem in college as part of my senior design project "Discovering the Self". The project was about self discovery and growth within through painting and poetry. It was a series of poems that I wrote, each having a underlying theme referring to different aspects of my life. Each poem had a painting that accompanied it. The paintings were created after the poems and were my visual interpretations of the poems.

So basically all of you have played a part in making me who I am today. You are all my pieces of glass that have helped my shine. Thank you and welcome to my blog!
